	Well, I've learned a lot about the introduction of dial phones! I guess we were pretty much behind the times in our little town in New Hampshire. We got converted to dial phones right after Uganda and Zimbabwe. The use of party lines ceased when they implemented the dial system. Up 'til then, party lines were the norm.

I went to Disneyland last week and ran across these old phones. The sign above them read, "Listen in to ~1890~ party line conversation." Funny stuff! There was an old man speaking with an old lady and she was calling the fire department about a fake fire. Both phones played the same conversation except one sounded like it was on a bad line.
