Default Cold Feet.

Anyone else thinking of just pretending they never said they'd do this?

I just spent the last 2 weeks of nano prep time working on the the halloween holiday special for my podcast. I'm pretty much dead meat. But I will still try.

You have to try. For some people, even if they don't finish it's more than they thought they would ever do. Then maybe next year they will.

Like your parents said.

"How will you ever know if you don't try"?

Never.

Speaking for myself, I have approximately zero time to prepare, this year. As it is I've decided on a genre, name, two characters and a little about them, but that's all. In addition, the day job now features a rather large project that absolutely MUST be completed by year end. But still, I press onward, though my sleep may suffer.

Dig we must!

That's kinda what I did last year, and I hated myself for it.

Yeh, I've thought about it, but I'm going to try anyway. I've arranged to go to a write in on Saturday which will hopefully start me off, and meeting other people and getting help planning on the nanowrimo website has made me feel more positive about it all. The way I see it, I haven't tried to write anything fictional since I was at school so even one sentence is an improvement on that! I don't expect I'll complete the full 50000 (due to work and personal reasons I may not have enough time) but just taking part and seeing what I can do is my aim for this year.

Hope you decide to join us!

You should definitely try, even if you don't get the full 50,000 words written! It's an amazing experience whether you finish or not (I speak from experience; the first two years I tried and failed. Last year, I won!)

I agree. Even if you don't come close to the 50k, NaNo is an unbeatable creative writing exercise.
