Ready to begin?
Less than 12 hours to start here in my neck of the woods. Do you stay up late and start at midnight, or do you get a good night's sleep first?
By the way, if anyone wants a writing buddy, here's my profile:

Yeah, uh, I'd better get to work on finding one of those "plot" thingies, eh?

Hooray, I've written 2000 words so far! Over my daily word count, but I probably need to aim to do more at the weekends. I'm quite chuffed that I've written 2000 words of fiction - that's probably more than I've ever written before!
I'm struggling a bit with getting the right balance between writing lots of crap quickly, and taking more time to write something I want to keep. I know that the main point of nanowrimo is quantity over quality, but if I end up with garbage then is there a point? I expect I can find somewhere in between where I can think about what I write, but don't get hung up on finding the right phrases/words.

I have 519 words of crap.
So I'm changing the font colour to white so I don't see it (but it still is part of the word count).
And starting over.
Chris Baty says that's okay.
