What is yours about so far?
Now that everyone has started and is at least 2,000 in...well...however many in you are...
What does it seem to be about so far? Personally I'm taking a concept of an audio I did an episode of before the series apparently died only it really is a life of its own and has very little to do with my original concept. It is mostly about a group of artists in a sort of magical valley and their adventures.

Murder mystery! I've never written one, have always wanted to, and am totally taking the chance to do it this year as my NaNo.
Plus, Chuck and Quincy from the Crimson Lien get to solve it!

When I start it, it will be the continuation of Will Moore's story in Age of Adventure Book 2- The Gathering Storm.
Saying much more will ruin the climax of book 1!

Ugh. Mine's turning out way too Dostoyevsky-like. (2008 has been a bad year, and it's showing in my writing.)
I'm tempted to scrap it and go back to my Walter Mitty-ish idea.

Nothing wrong with something dark, sometimes you need to write that way to help through things. It might be a good idea to just go with it.

Maybe I'll let you know when I'm about half way through. I don't know. I feel I'll jinx the whole thing if blab to the world what it is that I'm writing right now. Right now, it's a secret that the muse is whispering in my ear and if I tell you, I fear she'll leave in a huff for being so indiscreet.
Hmm. That sounds like the germ of a story idea in itself.

Mine is complicated, but let's see if I can give you a quick run down of the first 8037 words.
The protagonist is a street car driver who is haunted by nightmares of his service in the second world war, specifically of when his transport was shot down over Italy. By chapter two, he's gotten himself involved in a little situation when the woman who owns and tends his favorite bar - for whom he holds a torch for - finds herself getting shot at. She makes the very poor choice of using a street car to get away from the gunman, only to stop a block later due to traffic, luckily the police arrive in time and kill the shooter (or do they). During questioning though, it is revealed that she may or may not have a husband that is never spoken about.
And that's where today will kick off.
Whenever I find the time, at least.
Work sucks.

I love the streetcar idea, I'd be inclined to avail myself of one due to the expense of taxis, even with a mad gunman after me!

That's true, there is the thrift of it. I think I need to work that part up a bit after reading through it. It's just not long enough to properly convey the situation.
Also it gives me a chance/excuse to indulge a bit into my passion for all things that run along steel rails.
Woo! Two hundred posts!

Nothing wrong with Dostoyevsky, as long as you don't end depressing yourself too much! At least it fits with the weather better than my story which (for some unknown reason) is set in the desert
