I can not begin to accurately measure the complete awesomeness of that statement.
NaNoWrimo: needs more nanotechnology. |

Is there any way we can motivate you? Cheerleading, perhaps? |

Thank you, cheerleading is always good!
I seem to be getting better at quantity (though probably not quality!) - I think it's the practice which is making that easier, particularly bearing in mind that I haven't really written fiction before. My problem is more actually starting writing, once I've started it's not too bad. I'm very glad that I have a plot worked out beforehand though, otherwise I think I would be floundering!

Good to hear you're pulling through there, laura. We're rooting for ye.
I was bad and took yesterday off from writing. But this afternoon is a local meet up so I expect to make at lest 5,000 today. Plus, I'm taking next Thursday off from work, not entirely for NaNo, but partially.
Luckily, I've just passed a slump in my novel and I think I've got the next ten thousand words covered before I hit another one. Should be smooth sailing through to next week end.
Starting to think about post-NaNo awards, too, since I don't have to make another car payment until 2009.

21,005 as of today's writing meet up.
I'm slowing down now to 2,000 per day; my usual quota. I feel I have a comfortable enough lead that I should be able to survive any distractions from work - especially since the pressure there should drop significantly at the end of this forthcoming week.

I took yesterday off as I was just too tired. I think I made up for it today though I could keep going longer but I need to start phasing into UK time again and need to go to bed at a reasonable hour.
Upon rethinking, I changed a scene as well. Originally my protagonist was allowed one snog with her true love, but I have now decided that is completely out of character for her so instead I put in something that I remember happening with a bloke. He just finds her miserable and steps in to massage her shoulders until they are rudely interrupted.

But this is the last chance I have to write until I return on the 23rd. I should be able to finish up then.

Alexa, I do believe my goal of beating you to 50,000 is now in the far reaches of unlikely. I concede.
24,028. I'm about a day and a half behind of my schedule. Today is a double whamy: first of all, I need to hit 26,000 today. But secondly, before I do that, I have to take some of the clues I've planted and make them connect somehow to give a partial picture of what's going on, thereby allowing me to finish the other half.
I was going to take some time off from work tomorrow, but that's fallen through. There is an afternoon meet up on Friday though which I'm hoping to find time for.
I'm really starting to look forward to the end of NaNo, now. Mostly because I just want to get back to my audio scripts and start production.

Hooray! I've made it to 20000! Behind Jerm, and way,way behind Alexa, but still ahead of the daily count.

Congratulations laura!
I just hit 26,079 and reached two important milestones.
1) The antagonist has been introduced and it's been explained that he is a complete and total bastard.
2) The protagonist now has his task for the rest of the novel; namely, to kill the antagonist.
