Word Counts
We need a thread to post our word counts.
13,349.
I need to hit at least 14K before I allow myself to sleep tonight.

28,125 as of tonight, I'm forcing myself to turn in early so I can start getting used to the time difference or it would be more.
I left off just as I needed to describe Olivia in a swimsuit. I figured it would be a good place to end, that needs to be a good scene for all the poor blokes who made it through reading the ballet performance chapter. Besides, who can top the Red Panda swimsuit moment?

14,081 before today's quota.
Well, I don't think I'll be able to put the protagonist's love interest into a swim suit since it's set in Ontario in mid November... not to say I won't try, mind you.
I left off from yesterday in the middle of an interrogation, so I figure I should be covered for another 1,500 words or there about before I need to switch gears again for the next scene.
Also, think I'm about due for another flash back.

Indoor pool... Hmm, that would work except I first have to get the right characters to a hotel, assuming a hotel is the easiest place to find an indoor pool as neither of them could afford one by any means. It also assumes they had indoor pools in '52, which I'm pretty sure they did.
Post Lunch Update; 15,399.
Think I'm going to take next Tuesday off and spend several hours working on the count. I'm already going to lose 90 minutes or so with Remembrance Day services and maybe an hour due to car servicing. I may as well.

Ah! Brilliant!
Now, if I can just figure out what the hell is in this locket she slipped in his jacket before she disappeared, I can get back on track.
And 16,018.

Got my swimsuit scene in, 29,067 right now but hope to break the 30,000 mark tonight. I went for an Ava Gardnerish moment.
Update: And I did 30,884
Of course introducing a character that instead of saying "Mycroft is missing" likes to phrase things more like:
"I regret to inform you that there is a high probability that the information I am about to impart might cause alarm to those of a more squeamish nature, however, I am sure such a reaction, while natural, is not one to be taken with gravity. Not to put so light an emphasis on what might become a matter of import, I nevertheless hope you will be able to illuminate that which has become less than enlightened in my own location of contemplation..."
Does help.

Congrats on the +30K.
Ah yes, the unnecessarily verbose character. A secret weapon the likes of which I prefer not to unfurl until at least half way in the great endeavor.
