Pictures & Podcast of NATF ATW 2009
For those of you who listened to the Audio Theatre Workshop show stream:
Literally hundreds of people tried to listen and after a certain point they crashed the station's non-primary streaming servers! Very cool response to the show, but very bad result for the extra folks who hit the secondary servers.
On the plus side, there's will soon be another chance to hear it, but in a CD-quality podcast rather than the low-quality stream that was available to us. Hey, the station normally uses it only for sports, so my apologies for your ear pain.
In the meantime, check out the first batch of pictures from this year's training Workshop! We'll be posting lots more--plus videos--very soon!!
Cheers,
Kevin

Two sets of pictures from NATF ATW 2009 are up!
Two sets of pictures are up at two places! I know we all had a blast (as usual) and these reflect only a small portion of the 125+ pictures I took and others took dozens more. Of course, the nightly parties don't have a lot of snapshot action, so these are mostly of the official parts of the workshop
Here is the group at NATF.org (Same as the link in the first posting, BTW)
Here is the group at Flickr.com
Hope you enjoy them! I'm still editing the videos and may post more still pics to the sets above soon. If so, I'll update here. Ditto for the video posting.
Cheers,
Kevin

Download the MP3 of NATF's 2009 ATW Show!
The CD-Quality MP3 of the
NATF 2009 Audio Theatre Workshop
is Available Now for Free Download!!
You'll be listening to a production from the newly-trained members of the 2009 "Workshop 101" class first, then a multi-voice narration piece with recorded SFX and finish with a full-production operatic audio theatre work relating highlights in the life of Charles Darwin.
The Darwin piece includes both sampled/recorded SFX and loads of live SFX that were particularly fun to create. Some of the multiple effects layerings have components that are very subtle, so if you can enjoy it wearing headphones in a quiet environment you'll get even more mileage out of it. Listen to rubber surgical tubing twisted and rubbed lengthwise so it sounds just like straining sailing ship ropes!!
The show is split into two downloadable parts so make sure to get them both. Click the link below to hit the NATF homepage, then see the July 24th news post:
Happy listening! And remember, you can be part of creating the show next year! The non-profit NATF exists to teach you how to create modern audio theatre, so start saving your pennies now to participate!
Cheers,
Kevin
