Thing on the Fourble Board movie?

There's no indication as to the inspiration of this movie's plot, but it sure as heck looks to me like someone wanted to adapt The Thing on the Fourble Board from QUIET PLEASE.

Of course it's changed quite a bit and stretched to movie length, but the elements are all there it seems.

I can see it, kinda vaguely - but an almost equally compelling argument can be made for The Thing being related to Fourble Board.

I think you're onto something, and I wonder if we ought to contact the estate of Wyllis Cooper just in case.

I just scanned through the synopsis on that website, and simularity that struck me was the 'Monster as Beautiful Girl' element. The really creepy part of 'Fourble Board' wasn't the monster in the oil well, it was the fact that our narrator married the moster and took her home. It sounds like the plot to 'Nine Miles Down' at least alludes to this kind of thing.

Great Stuff. I wouldn't worry about the Fourble Board thing. It reminds me more of some M.R. James stuff I've read. You are, of course, submitting this for an Ogle. It's a winner for sure.

The text "synopsis" of Nine Miles Down is so darned long. I lost interest in the story mid-way through, but there is an obvious similiarity to "The Thing on the Fourble Board."
